Well gang, it is official. FlatEarth.com as we knew it is no more. I transfered the domain yesterday, and today the address no longer points to a web site. The purchaser was an agent for someone else (internet consultant), and when I asked them what type of site the domain would be used for they said they do not know. Either they really did not know, or (more likely) are under a confidentiality agreement. I guess we will have to wait and see. It is amazing to me how much a little thing like a web site and an address can mean. I know I made the right decision for myself, but there is still this little twang of loss. As always we will move on, but I will have a moment of mourning for the old FlatEarth.com - Darin (aka WebWizard)

Just as an interesting note, doing a "whois" on flatearth.com shows the new owner to be Frito-Lay! Very interesting, I can't wait to see what they end up doing with the name...

In Memory of FE...
*Bowing her head, Amariese's eyes fill with tears. Sapphire glints of light shine from the corners of her eyes. Yet, the tears tinged with sadness, glimmer too from happiness. A happiness born of fond memories of places and people she had met on her journey through Flat Earth.
As a perfect tear falls from her lavender eye, Amariese whispers softly, her voice trembling slightly, "Till we meet again, my friends for there is no true goodbye."
With love to those that help Flat Earth become the wonderful land it was, you will be missed and kept safe in my heart for future smiles.

Lol. Has anyone taken a look at the flateath site? : ) It is halarious... or at least I, oddly, found it very funny.

Yes, it is funny in a very bizarre way. It is certainly not what I expected...

Quite the joke yes, a great site reduced to advertising a lowly company selling cookies.

Fricken fruit crisps lol.. has anyone had those yet?
Well, it's been quite a while since I looked in on this place. I just thought I would seeing as how this site and mine seem to be the last two traces of Flatearth and, from what I can see, they're both dying down.
Oh well.. it's too unfortunate that I still haven't found a place quite like it was yet.
Anyways, I realize I just revived an old thread but I couldn't stop myself from posting.
