High Elves
Appearance: As most know, Elves are slim and tall creatures that are one of the most beautiful of all. In fact, most see them as the perfect beings. Being like a painting coming to life while also being intelligent and wise. Most have blonde and silver hair while other breeds of this race have dark colored hair. The most unique feature everyone knows about them is their pointy ears.
Behavior: For being long-lived, beautiful, and wise they depict themselves as such. Sophistication and being well-mannered are what they expect other elves to be as well. It's a life of formality, morality, and living peacefully. But still there are cons to their usual attitudes. A lot of the time they'll speak illy towards humans or those of shorter life-spans. They have an egotistical outlook on many things. Yet even so they usually do not let it go to their head unless they are too young to understand wisdom.
General Attire & Weapons/Armor: Most elves usually wear silk clothing with light boots. They can be of any color and usually have designs that are based on nature and the elements. When it comes to battles and war, they have some of the best creations the world has ever seen. And all thanks to mithril, their beloved metal they use for most things. Its hard as dragonscale but light as a feather (Yes, I took that from LOTR's, lol).
They make swords, short swords, daggers, all out of mithril and all are as slender as their own bodily shapes. When it comes to bows however, those are created from the branches of very large trees and crafted into soft but powerful weapons. Usually this is done by elves singing to the trees until the tree gives them a branch or piece of wood thus not hurting the tree. When is comes to vareity of bows, the elves have many types. First is the regular scout bow that looks much like a hunters bow. Next is the longbow often used within battles for it's long reach. Lastly is the short bow usually used within small wood areas. Other types of bows are based on what wood they used. Some times there is even metal bows, but since they are heavier it is much rarer to see.
Now when it comes to armor most of the time it looks like barely have any on. Except for mithril chain-mail, they would usually wear helmets and armor that looks almost like a gown or dress than actual armor. Most of which are made for flexible purposes.
Elven Abilities: As everyone knows, elves are probably most well-known for their mastery in magic. This, of course, is based around the fact of how much in touch they are with nature and the elements. They some times will even tell you they are one with nature and magic. Because of such they mostly do spells of healing, singing (to nature - or maybe to lure in people), and then the elemental spells of both offensive and defense. The black art, however, is not in their library of spells. They keep away from all things usually in touch with bringing things back to life, killing, or torture.
Aside from their magical abilities, their genetic traits offer more than just being in touch with nature. Other than living for long periods of time, they have sharp vision, acute hearing, and for older elves the ability to see the future. A sensing of danger if you will. Or even maybe just sensing the atmosphere around them. These traits are heavily trained to further make them deadly enemies.
Other types of Elf: In the beginning there was just one set of elves, but eventually as time passed by and wars ensued sub-genres of elf slowly began to appear with one coming out on top.
The other most well known type of elf is
drow (dark elf). Having black skin (or lighter) and white hair (or darker), and then some dark or fearful looking eyes (red, violet, black, grey). Here you have sinister beings that are quite sadistic yet still have strong principles. They are hateful, distrusting, treacherous creatures, but they are quite cunning as well. They'll do anything to gain power and further plot to destroy even their own family if it meant they would one day be out of their seat of power.
Even more interesting about them is the culture is based more on women instead of men. Women are the "strong" beings while men are seen as weak servants for women to do as they please with. This does not mean however that men are weak. Often are they used for war where there have been plenty of times in history where a man (or more) have been very skillful and feared by even the queen herself.
Other attributes about the drow is that they can only live in the dark. Usually in underground taverns or caves, rarely do you see them out during the day or even on the outside itself. To them, sunlight destroys their magic or enchantments and even hurts their eyes to a great extent. Also, they can see in the dark as well so they are very good at hiding. Most people hate drows and never trust them either. They are despised by nearly every race for their deeds of the past. That and they are sworn enemies of elves themselves.
Other types of elf included wood elves who are even more in touch with nature and usually are found high in the trees of forest. Other then that they are usually the same as an elf.

Sand Elves
Appearance: A newly discovered race, Sand Elves look pretty much the same as regular elves. The difference is that their skin has a tanned look to it, or lighter, and more have black, brunette, some times blonde, or brown hair. Their eye color ranges from brown, black, blue, red, violet, and grey. There is one other difference about the Sand Elves is that the men often are much more muscular than slender. Nothing hulk-like, but much more defined one might say.
Behavior: Being people of sand and stone, sand elves are very quiet and calm. They do not jump to any conclusions or stare someone down in thoughts of suspicion. They are quite curious, however, since they have been living underground for many long years. It is not until they met humans that they decided to understand the outside world and learn new things. In a sense they sort of act like a child just staring at the world in wonder. They are pretty much polite people that are untainted by vengeance or greed. They are a people the value water and respect.
General Attire & Weapons/Armor: Before the high elves came along the sand elves did not have much materials to create good clothing and often just wore primitive pieces of cloth to cover themselves. When the high elves finally found them it opened up a whole new world filled with silk and fashion. Eventually they adapted much of the high elf fashion to their own with some tweaks and even found leather appealing. Often will you find them wearing brown, black, grey, and their favorite color, red throughout the city.
Once again, before the high elves came the metal they most often used was iron for both weapons and armor. Finally, after that one meeting they soon had mithril and many other exquisite metals that began to become more used within their culture. What types of weapons they used was something completely different than the high elves.
Being stronger than the typical high elf, sand elves can also wield larger weapons. Yet instead of large swords or maces they have spears, pole-arms, and even chains. Fighting their enemy at a longer distance is usually what they like, both defensively and offensively. Of course they cannot leave out the use of swords when long distance fails.
Here they use wide but much smaller weapons they call "Loki", which in elvish means "Snake". This weapon is the size of a dagger, but very wide. Over four inches in width. It's about ten inches long as well with a sharp tip. This weapon, however, is an weapon that changes. With a lock on it it stays in dagger form, but once you unlock it and sling it forward it extends out two feet to become a sword that stays the same width as before. This makes it quick and can strike accurately. Furthermore, they can use it as a sword too once they put the lock on after it's extended. Bows and arrows are not used here.
When it comes to armor they use the same typical stuff the high elves use, except thicker.
Sand Elf Abilities: Sand elves are pretty much a slightly different version of high elves, but there are more differences than one would think. For one, instead of singing to trees the sand elves sing to rocks. This is how they build their tunnels, by talking to the earth and letting it take shape in the chants they create.
As for magic it is also quite different than just high elves healing and tree spells. With magic of earth, they can summon golem rock demons or create a shield out of stone with a simple spell. This also gives them ability to use the earth to heal wounds. Believing that the earth is where they came from they chant to the dirt to go to the wound and recreate new skin. This strangely works, but does not create new limbs. Just open wounds. And it may take longer if the wound is bigger.
When it comes to physical abilities they possess more strength than high elves and a higher endurance. Thing is it does affect their speed. They can run the same distance any high elf could, just at a slower speed. Still, they are not sluggish by any means. With a decent muscle build and strong legs they can easily out maneuver a human and even a goblin (some times). This also makes them rely on carefully watching their opponent and seeing through the speed to defend themselves. They are keen on studying their enemy.
